The Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu has directed the Abia State Universal Basic Education Board (ASUBEB) to commence fencing of the Mbato Secondary School, Umungalagu, Eziama Nvosi in Isialangwa South Local government Area to give it a befitting look and enhance security in the school.
The Governor gave the directives while speaking as a special guest at the 53rd birthday celebrations of the Member representing Isialangwa North and SOUTH Federal Constituency at the National Assembly in his home town, Umungalagu, Eziama Nvosi. He also asked the celebrant to come and take delivery of 20 units of solar lights to be installed at the stadium named after him (Governor)
He disclosed that agrressive road construction works will take place this coming dry season, adding that the Obikabia – Umueńe road will be completed. He urged Abians to be patient with his government as he is poised to touch every part of the State. He said moving from one political party to another is not the solution but providing quality representation for the people and assured that he remains a member of the PDP.
The Governor, who commissioned the Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu Ikpeazu Mini Stadium and other items provided by the celebrant congratulated him and prayed God to bless him with more eventful years while urging the beneficiaries of the empowerment projects to make judicious use of the items provided
Also speaking, the Senator representing Abia Central at the National Assembly, Chief T. A Orji commended the celebrant for the projects he has done for his constituents. He described Darlington Nwokocha as a loyal and committed friend who is providing quality representation to his constituents and urged stakeholders in the Abia polity to complement the efforts of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu in moving the state forward.
The Speaker, Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chinedum Orji and the State Chairman of the PDP, Rt. Hon. Asiforo Okere said that Darlington Nwokocha has introduced a new dimension in legislation by attracting, implementing and executing projects within his constituency, describing him as a true party man. They urged him to continue do more for his constituents.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the occasion and National Organizing Secretary of the PDP, Col. Austin Akobundu (Rtd.) described the commissioning of the projects executed by Darlington including ICT centre, Legislative Chambers, mini stadium as well thought out and wonderful birthday gifts to his constituents aimed at building capacity of his people and commended Darlington Nwokocha for making the party proud.
The state Chairman of the PDP Chief Asiforo Okere said that Darlington Nwokocha has brought to bear a new dimension in representation, adding that he has witnessed the commissioning of many projects of the lawmaker, describing him as a true party man and representative of his people.
In their speeches on behalf of stakeholders of Isialangwa North and South, the member representing Isialangwa North State Constituency, Chief Ginger Onwusibe and the Board Chairman Abia State Polytechnic Aba, Elder John Nwangborogwu commended the celebrant for his quality representation of his people and urged him to continue to put smiles on the faces of his people.
In his speech, the celebrant and member representing Isialangwa North and South Federal Constituency, Hon. Darlington Nwokocha said that all he has done for his people are to complement the developmental efforts of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu at the grassroots and thanked God for bringing him up from poor background to limelight.
The event attracted an array of dignitaries from across the State, too numerous to mention.
