Aggrieved members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State have purchased the party’s nomination forms ahead of the Party’s congresses.
This is coming a few days after Governor Seyi Makinde had purchased the nomination forms for other members of the party.
Makinde while speaking at the inauguration of local organising commitee for congresses of the party, maintained that the party will allow internal democracy to reflect in the processes and all its actions.
He stated that he has purchased all the nomination forms for the congresses.
But some aggrieved members of the party have dared the governor by purchasing thier own forms.
The aggrieved members noted that they had purchased nomination forms for all 33 local government areas of the State.
They confirmed that they had been submitting the completed forms to the national secretariat of the party.
One of the aggrieved members of the party, Alhaji Bisi Olopoeniyan, spoke on behalf of others.
Olopoeniyan is from Ibadan North-East, the same local government area where Governor Makinde is currently voting.
The PDP chieftain affirmed that he and other aggrieved members were also PDP members and had got forms for all the 33 local government areas of the State.
“Since Senator Bukola Saraki reconciliation committee visited, the Governor has done nothing. So, everyone remains on their own lane and we have also gone to purchase forms.
“We are all PDP members and have got forms for all the 33 local government areas of the State. In fact, all forms have been shared and we are already returning them to the National Secretariat in Abuja.
“Parallel congress is allowed. Even for the current Oyo Governor, parallel congress was done. We got our forms, they have got theirs. If parallel occurs, it is part of congress. Every party member is on their own.
“No one is leaving our side. We are the PDP, they are Omituntun. No one can chase us away from the party. We own the party and no one can chase us out,” he vowed.
