Abia Speaker conferred with Chieftaincy Title as ‘Ezi-Ogo’ by Umuopara Council of Traditional Rulers

The Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Engr Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji earlier today attended the inauguration of Ugwu Umuokpara Ahia Asa by Ndi Eze Umuopara.

At the event, the Speaker was conferred with a Chieftaincy title as Ezi-Ogo by His Royal Majesty, Eze Engr Wisdom N. Ekueku, Ohazurume 1 of Dim na Opara Autonomous Community, Ogbodiukwu and Chairman Umuopara Council of Traditional Rulers.

After the chieftaincy conferment, the Speaker was hosted to a reception at the countryhome of Chief Acho Hulk Uluocha, the Traditional Prime Minister of Umuopara.

Speaking at the reception, Rt Hon Chinedum Orji said he was elated by the show of love from the Umuopara community and thanked Chief Uluocha for his resilience in uniting the Umuopara clan.

Responding, Chief Uluocha who congratulated the Speaker on his latest chieftaincy conferment, also thanked him for honouring the invitation extended to him by Umuopara Council of Traditional Rulers.

“You have shown that politics can be played without bitterness nor rancour. Your steadfastness in helping to keep the polity calm is worth commending,” Chief Uluocha said.

The host prayed that the Speaker continue to break limits in all his political endeavours.

Member representing Umuahia North State Constituency, Hon Kelechi Onuzuruike accompanied the Speaker to the event while an All Progressives Congress chieftain, Hon Acho Obioma (Chomen) also graced the event.

Member representing Umuahia South State Constituency, Hon Jerry Uzosike and the Executive Chairman of Umuahia South Local Government Area, Hon Humphrey Benson were also conferred with chieftaincy titles at the ceremony.
