The Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Engr Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji today attended the wedding reception of Mr & Mrs Cokey Nwachukwu.
Speaking at the event held at Jubilee Hall, Mater Dei Cathedral, Umuahia, the Speaker advised the couple to build their new home on the foundations of respect, trust and humility.
He said he was particularly elated because the bride is the daughter of his closest uncle and urged them to love and cherish each other.
Concluding, the Speaker advised the newlywed to maintain good communication at all times and ensure they grow together in peace and happiness.
The Speaker prayed for the couple and wished them the best of married life: a fruitful, blissful and peaceful union.
The marriage was earlier solemnised at Mater’s Vessel Church, 73, Azikiwe Road, Umuahia.
Member representing Ikwuano, Umuahia North / South Federal Constituency, Hon Samuel Onuigbo, Members representing Umuahia North and Ikwuano State Constituencies, Hon Kelechi Onuzuruike and Hon Stanley Nwabuisi, former National Organising Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party, Colonel Augustine Akobundu (rtd), Vice Chancellor of Michael Okpara University Umudike, Professor Maduebibisi Ofo Iwe ( CFS ), Executive Chairman of Ikwuano Local Government Area and other government officials attended the ceremony.
Hon Cokey Nwachukwu is the Deputy Chairman of Ikwuano Local Government Area of Abia State.
