The Tunisia assistant coach, Jalel Kadri, has revealed that they targeted Nigerian wide players during their Sunday stunning 1-0 win.
The Carthage Eagles are through to the quarter-finals after seeing off Augustine Eguavoen’s men in their 2021 Africa Cup of Nations round of 16 clash.
The Super Eagles’ wide players were blunted by a double team, especially on Moses Simon down the left.
Samuel Chukwueze did not find joy down the opposite flank, as the Tunisians shut down Nigeria’s threat comfortably.
“We know Nigeria are very strong and very fast in the wings,” Kadri said at the post-match press conference.
“We came up with tactics to put pressure on the Nigerian wingers because they are very dangerous. And we also know they have difficulties when they lose the ball.”
