It is with rude shock that I Hon. Chijioke Chukwu member representing Bende north state constituency, received the sad news of an unfortunate incident, where the residential building of the former member representing Bende Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon Nnenna Ukeje was burnt down, by unidentified hoodlums, in Alayi.
I hereby condemn in strong terms, the wicked act on an illustrious daughter of Bende as such is not in the character of the people of Bende.
I therefore call on the traditional rulers, local government Chairman and indeed Abia State government and security agencies, to ensure that peace is restored to the community, while a thorough investigation be carried out, to ensure that the perpetrators of such heinous crime are made to face the law.
