At His Chief of Staff’s Mother’s Funeral, Abia Speaker Promises to Build a House for Indigent Woman

The remains of Late Mrs Elizabeth Nkechi Ezeigbo have been laid to rest in her country home at Umudu Nsukwe Ubakala, Umuahia South LGA.

Speaking while condoling son of the deceased, Mazi Kenneth Ezeigbo and other family members, the Speaker described Late Mrs Elizabeth Ezeigbo as a virtuous woman who lived an exemplary christian life in service to God and humanity as well as contributed to the progress of her community.

“Death is an inevitable end for every mortal but we always pray to live and enjoy God’s blessings till our very old age. Your mother was a woman of unique charisma; I urge you all to live in peace and unity, and sustain her legacies”, the Speaker counselled.

He prayed God to give the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss and grant the soul of the departed eternal rest.

As a way of honouring the memory of Late Mrs Ezeigbo, the Speaker pledged to build a befitting apartment for an indigent woman in the area. To this end, he requested Mr Cyprian Obia, the Ubakala Ward B Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party to make necessary enquiries and get back to him on the development soonest.

Earlier in his speech, Mazi Kenneth Ezeigbo thanked the Speaker for coming to commiserate with them, saying the love and support shown him and the family have been immense.

He prayed that God will continue to bless the Speaker in all his endeavours.

Mazi Kenneth Ezeigbo is the Chief of Staff to the Speaker.

Commissioner for Documentation and Strategic Communications, Mr Ugochukwu Emezue, Traditional Prime Minister of Ibeku Ancient Kingdom, High Chief Uche Akwukwegbu (Bawas), CEO, Slot Systems Limited, Engr Nnamdi Ezeigbo and other dignitaries attended the funeral reception.

The deceased was aged 80.
