RE: GOV. WIKE DECLARES FARAH DAGOGO WANTED.
The Executive Governor of Rivers State, Chief (Barr.) Nyesom Ezenwo Wike CON, is right in declaring Farah Dagogo wanted, as the Chief Security Officer of the state.
Many people in and outside
Rivers State, didn’t know or understand details of the incident that occurred on Wednesday, April 27th, 2022, at the State PDP Secretariat, wherein persons suspected to be cultists by their action, deliberately attempted to disrupt and prevent the screening of National and State Assembly Aspirants did not only happened on the date aforementioned, same occurrence had also happened two weeks ago, in the same venue and scene of incident, during the purchase of Intent And Nomination Forms.
For the avoidance of doubt, the same set of people with same facial resemblances violently threatened members of the Rivers State PDP Executives and eventually chased everybody out of the premises of the State Party Secretariat on flimsy excuse, that the Party Officials, particularly the State Party Chairman, Deputy Chairman and Secretary refused to give them the Intent and Nomination Forms after showing evidence of payment yet, His Excellency, the Governor of Rivers State appealed to every party members wishing to contest the primary election to do so peacefully and conduct themselves in accordance with the law.
The Governor of Rivers State, did not involve the Security agents, to arrest the mastermind and perpetrators of the crime but cautioned and advised those identified to have a rethink and be mindful of the law and not get involved next time again.
It is imperative to state without any equivocation that, these same set of hooligans and cultists referenced above, masquerading as aspirants wishing to contest the State and National Assembly PDP primary election under the platform of the PDP, are known and identified supporters of Farah Dagogo.
It will interest the general public to know that on Wednesday, April 27th, 2022, the same persons with same faces suddenly thronged the State PDP Party Secretariat, this time with more miscreants and cultists, to disrupt, shouting at the top of their voices, causing commotion and tension in the entire vicinity and threatening that the Screening Committee Members will not conduct any screening in the Party Secretariat, that the real Screening is ongoing somewhere in Port Harcourt according to them.
His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Rivers State, who is the leader of PDP in the State and the Chief Security Officer of the state, can no longer fold his arms on the strength of serious Security breach/report, had to involve the Security agencies, particularly the Nigeria Police, who heads the Security agencies in Internal Security of the State in a Democratic dispensation, ordered the Police to quickly arrest Farah Dagogo, who Concrete Intelligence gathering revealed his involvement, as a measure to restore Peace and Security.
It is important to state that within Security circle, mostly unknown to the public, when the Chief protagonist and/or initiator of crime in a State have caused a breach of the Peace, in order for those involved to be quickly apprehended, the identified offender/kingpin must be immediately arrested or declared wanted by the Chief Security Officer and head of Government, as a measure to restore normalcy and tranquility, for the restoration of confidence to enable the citizens go about their lawful business unmolested.
It is left for the suspect declared wanted, to show himself to the head of the Security agency, to answer questions concerning the allegations against him.
Rivers State, as an oil producing State with the presence of very strategic and economically housing National Assets critical to the survival of Nigeria as a nation, cannot be allowed to go into flame of violence, the Executive Governor of the State will be held responsible if he delays in the exercise of his Constitutional Duty, to prevent a breakdown of law and order, for the good and Peaceful Administration of the State.
The Governor of Rivers State, apart from being the Chief Security Officer of the state, is a Lawyer by profession and well vast and conversant with the provisions of the law. He believes in the supremacy of the law and the adjudication of Matters adjudged illegal, for same to be interpreted in the Court rather than taking laws into his hands or unnecessarily joining issues with political opponents, who are merely mobilized and instigated to fight him and distabilize his Government. He remains a firm believer of the rule of law and due process.
We therefore, call on Hon. Farah Dagogo, to present himself to the Commissioner of Police Rivers State, if he is a law abiding citizen instead of being afraid and issuing out frivolous press statements in hiding.
The Security Agencies are professionally trained and cannot prosecute a non offender of the law, without corresponding evidence to proof and/or corroborate the charge against the suspect.
