Dr. Chris Oyirinda Amadi,
EDFA,
NDDC Head Office,
Port Harcourt,
Rivers State

Dear Sir,

AN OPEN LETTER OF COMMENDATION FOR RESTORING HOPE TO THE YOUTHS AND ELDERS OF RIVERS STATE TO DR C. O. AMADI

Having watched your activities and inputs towards creating the dreamed Rivers state, envisaged by the founding fathers of this great state, since your appointment as the acting Executive Director of Finance and Administration (EDFA) of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), by the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration, it behoves on me as one of the elders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to write this open letter to congratulate you formally on your appointment, particularly for living the wisdom of your appointment and commend you for all your intervention programs aimed at alleviating poverty and hardship facing most of our people, particularly at this time we are trying to build a just and egalitarian State.

I am aware of your commitment towards the actualisation of the dream of our leader, Rt. Hon. Rotimi Chibuike Rotimi, former governor of Rivers State, incumbent Minister of Transportation and leader of our great party in the South-South region, has for this state and Nigeria as a whole. For allowing yourself as a tool for the emancipation and development of our dear state, I pray God Almighty to continue to bestow on you His grace and wisdom, to enable you to distinguish yourself in this noble struggle.

After watching and reading how you decided to host the Critical Social Media Influencers In Rivers State, involving many of our educated youths to champion the creation of the type of Rivers state of our dreams, I was moved to write this open letter to encourage and motivate you that you are on the right path. Though, I am sad to note that most of us do not understand the high cost in running an effective media group in a political setting like ours, for you to have initiated this idea, God alone will bless you.

Though, Ken Minimah the
Chief Servant and the Coordinator of the RVS-APC New Media Team, (RANMT) specifically invited me for this epochal event, I have to excuse myself knowing the plot and threat to kill me by some misguided elements within our political system. This notwithstanding, I am happy that Barr Godspower Igwe, the Administrative Secretary of the New Media Group, in his paper, captured my stand and that of those in the forefront of ensuring that our views are heard within and outside the State.

In this regard, I implore you to find time to critically study Barr Igwe’s paper with the hope of not only implementing some of the suggested strategies on how to motivate this set of our youths desirous of creating an ideal Rivers State, where all of us will be proud to call our own, but to also sustain the idea. I share in the pains of this group that has stood by us, not minding the odds and challenges facing each one of them.

Many people have tried to know why I am at the forefront, defending the principles and ideals of our leader, even at the detriment of my health and life. To me, I don’t see Amaechi as a boss or one that hired me to do what I am doing, as being suggested by my friend, Senator Magnus Abe, but I see Amaechi in me and as aptly captured by one of my friends, Andy Nweye, former Coordinator of the National Orientation Agency (NOA) in Rivers state, while trying to explain it to some elements: “Eze once he decides on a course, he is unbendable. I am sorry to expose the fact that nobody can stop Eze in what he is currently doing because Eze is Amaechi and Amaechi is Eze, so trying to stop Eze will amount to an excerise in futility. Hurt Amaechi, you have hurt Eze”.

So no matter the odds and efforts to stop me in this course which only God is the force behind most of my actions will amount truly to an excerise in futility. We can only survive in this struggle if we adopt similar spirit in carrying out this onerous task in this regard.

Finally, let me state that Amaechi has done his best in creating a political family for each one of us and for any of us to be politically relevant, we must join hands to build this family into a force to be reckoned and respected in the political struggle of this nation.

It is in this regard, that I sincerely commend what you, Dr Amadi, is currently doing in Rivers state and we all must encourage you to sustain this drive.

Permit me sir, to state that the problem I am having with our political system is the erroneous thinking that only Amaechi, Dr Dakuku Peterside or Ambassador Oji Ngofa and few others must be the only people that must fund our political projects. This is unacceptable and a fallacy and can only lead to more frustration and failure! The system has built a lot of people, let us at our various locations do our best to carry members of this political family along and in doing so we can build the type of political system that can withstand the storm when it comes.

That the current NDDC board is very focused and poised to deliver on her mandate towards the emancipation and development of the Niger Delta region is no longer in doubt seeing the much the Board has achieved since her inauguration particularly for paying off the debts of most of the Contractors from 2016 till date which to me is a commendable effort. I therefore urge all and sundry to assist the Board to succeed accordingly.

Finally, I sincerely thank the Acting Managing Director of NDDC, Professor Nelson Braimbraifa for given you the room to carry out this noble course. My thanks also goes to Ken Minimah the Peoples Chief Servant, Barr Igwe, Priestly Nna (SA Media to the EDFA) and Ikenda, Chief Chima Nnokam Amadi for making this meeting possible.

As it will be foolhardy for all the key avalanche of proficient social media influencers in Rivers State and Niger Delta, to be involved in this singular meeting, I appeal to all those who couldn’t make it or invited to excerise patience and wait for another opportunity. What is most important is that efforts are being made to carry most of us along in this struggle.

Thanks and God bless you for your time.

Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze.

Former National Publicity Secretary of the new People’s Democratic Party (nPDP).
