Rivers State Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike today swore in and assigned portfolios to Prof. Zacchaeus Adangor, SAN as the Honourable Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Hon Isaac Kamalu as Commisioner of Finance and Dr. George-Kelly, Dakorinama Alabo as Commissioner for Works and head of Bureau of Special Projects.

In his charge after swearing them in, Governor Wike disclosed that the state government has preferred criminal charges against former Governor Ameachi, Sahara Energy, Tonye Cole, and others that were indicted by the Justice Omereji Judicial Commission of Enquiry report. He charged the newly sworn-in Attorney General to ensure the case is diligently prosecuted.

The Governor further directed the State’s Attorney General to write a letter to the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in protest of the harassment of the People Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship Candidate, Mr Fubara Siminialayi, by the EFCC.

He cautioned that there was no legal basis for their action as they were two judgements against the harrasment of State Government officials by the EFCC. He further warned that the agency would be sued for contempt of Court if the seeming political harassment is repeated.
