The Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Engr Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji earlier today worshipped at Jesus Pentecostal Miracle Church (Chapel of Liberation) Umuichi Nkata Afarata Ibeku, Umuahia North LGA where he was conferred with an award.
Speaking at the church service, the Speaker thanked the leadership and congregation of the church for finding him worthy to be conferred with the award.
Rt Hon Engr Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji specially appreciated His Lordship, Bishop Stephen M. Otuonye, General Overseer of the church for the love and support he has given to the Orji family over the years. The Speaker promised that the family will not take such genuine love for granted.
He urged the congregation to be ambassadors of peace and progress and contribute meaningfully to the progress of their communities and participate fully in the forthcoming general elections. He advised them to support only credible candidates who have demonstrated commitment to their welfare in the elections.
In his speech, the General Overseer of Jesus Pentecostal Miracle Church, His Lordship, Bishop Stephen M. Otuonye, thanked the Speaker for coming to worship with them. He said the Speaker had over the years made immense investment and contributions to the growth of the church.
The Man of God said the Speaker through his humanitarian and philanthropic gestures has assisted a great number of youths, families, communities, schools and religious institutions, saying that such unprecedented gestures have distinguished him as a quality leader that is worthy to be recognised and supported, hence, the reason the Bishop College of Jesus Pentecostal Miracle Ministry/Church unanimously resolved to confer on him the Award of “A Great Philanthropist” of our time.
Finally, he prayed God to continue to lift the Speaker and bless him tremendously.
On his part, the Director-General of the Speaker’s campaign council, Pastor Emeka Inyama thanked the clergyman for his support to the Speaker over the years and urged him to continue to pray and offer supplications for the Speaker so he will do more for the people.
The Speaker was presented with an Award of Honour as the Great Philanthropist of Our Time.
Leaders and members of the Speaker’s campaign council accompanied the Speaker to the church service.
