Ikpeazu commends Abia Fire service, provides succour for victims of Ukaegbu Fire outbreak

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has commended the Officers of the Abia State Fire Service for their prompt response to the fire outbreak at Ukaegbu Road, Ogbor Hill Aba few days ago.

The Governor is delighted with the promptitude with which the Aba Unit of the State Fire Service responded to distress calls from the area and the professionalism they displayed as they helped put out the fire.

The Governor also directed that the victims of the fire outbreak at Ukaegbu Road be given some succor to assist them. The victims who are mainly small business owners have received sums ranging between =N=100, 000.00 and =N=750,000.00 depending on the nature of their business and quantum of loss suffered.

The Governor finally expresses his deep concerns about the apparently increasing fire outbreaks in Aba in the recent past. He called on the people of Aba to exercise serious restraints when dealing with materials with combustible potentials and generally do everything to avoid causing fire outbreaks.
