The Chairman of Ohuhu Traditional Rulers Forum, HRM Eze Nnamdi Ofoegbu (Oroko-Abia), the Diawa I of Umudiawa, was among the traditional rulers that endorsed the Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly and the PDP standard-bearer for Ikwuano-Umuahia Federal Constituency for the 2023 election.

The endorsement came Saturday at the 22nd coronation anniversary ceremony of Oroko-Abia at his palace in Umudiawa Ohuhu, Umuahia North LGA.

While endorsing the Abia Speaker on behalf of the traditional rulers, HRM Eze King Ogbonna Agwu, Eze Onyeoruru I of Ajatanigu Autonomous Community, Oboro clan, Ikwuano LGA, the royal fathers declared that the Speaker is a well trained and well brought up man who has, through a dint of hardwork, professionalism, competence, integrity and service to the people become a highly sought-after political figure that has the capacity to attract even more dividends of democracy to the people when given the mandate.

The traditional ruler further stated that Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji has garnered more than enough experience to be a competent and effective federal legislator that will be of immense benefit to the people of Ikwuano-Umuahia Federal Constituency, saying the Speaker will not go to the Federal House as a fresher, learner or novice who would spend time trying to understand the rudiments of lawmaking before settling down to the complex business of lawmaking and effective representation, but that he will hit the ground running right from Day One, a situation that will be of immense advantage to Ikwuano/Umuahia.

He therefore announced that the royal fathers, having considered these attributes and compared them to that of all the others vying for the Ikwuano-Umuahia Federal Constituency, resolved to support and mobilise votes for Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji and ensure he wins and becomes a member of the Federal House of Representatives through the elections of 25th February, 2023.

He thereafter handed the Speaker to all the Royal Fathers from the various communities in Ikwuano-Umuahia with prayers and declarations of victory for him.

Responding, the Speaker thanked the traditional rulers for their endorsement and for the kind words volunteered towards him, saying he would never take the endorsement for granted but that it would rather serve as a motivation for him to commit himself even the more to the service of the people. He prayed God to grant the royal fathers long life in peace and wisdom.

The Deputy Chief Whip of the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon Kelechi Onuzuruike, Director-General of Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji Campaign Organisation, Pastor Emeka Inyamah, the coordinator, Alhaji Suleiman Ukandu, a former Executive Chairman of Umuahia North LGA, Hon Chidiebere Nwachukwu, a former PDP governorship aspirant, Chief Lucky Igbokwe among others were among those present during the endorsement.
