The House of Representatives on Thursday has resolved to investigate the alleged theft of N20 billion belonging to state governments.

Following the adoption of a motion of urgent public importance moved by Ibrahim Kawu, the House resolved to set up an ad hoc committee to investigate the allegation.

Moving the motion, Mr Kawu said the money was diverted by staff of NNPC under the guise of “consultation fees”.

He warned that the House must act to checkmate the diversion.

Following the motion, the House resolved to set up a committee to investigate within four weeks.
