The Governor of Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde has commissioned the newly completed 100- bede Multi Specialist Hospital, Aba ,48 hours to the end of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu’s tenure.
Speaking while commissioning the project, Governor Makinde extolled his Abia state counterpart for finishing strong with many landmark achievements.
He stated that the edifice will ensure a healthy population , adding that Governor Okezie has, with the project written his name in gold.
Speaking earlier, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu said the aim of reviving the once moribund Aba General Hospital is to ensure that Abia people access modern health care.
According to him, he was desirous of bequeathing a health facility that will provide answer to the health needs of the people.
The Governor disclosed that the Aba Multi Specialist Hospital will be complemented by two Mobile Clinics to render service to the people and expressed optimism that the incoming administration will keep the equipment in good order to continue to serve Abians.
The commissioner for Health Dr Joe Osuji said the edifice was conceived by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu , pointing out that the Hospital is accessible and affordable and will take care of the health needs of Abians.
Earlier while giving an overview of the facility,the Project Consultant, Mrs Chinasa Ukonu said that the project is a 100-bed capacity facility fully equipped with State of the Art Mobile and Static Xray facilities and capacity to manage Cardiac, Kidney, Dental, Mother and Child issues with basic Clinics Laboratories ,Accident and Emergency Unit as well as Phisiotherapy. The hospital has 3 modern operating theaters, VIP suites and facilities to manage regular medical cases.
Governor Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, Deputy Governor Ude Oko Chukwu, members of the State Executive Council, Transition Committee Chairman of Aba South LGA, Chima Mbama, Service Commanders, Traditional Rulers and other dignitaries witnessed the event.
