Former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has called on Local Government Chairmen in Rivers State to put in their best and see their position as an advenue to serve their people.
The former Governor gave this advise when Chairmen from the 23 Local Government Areas of Rivers State led by the Mayor of Port Harcourt Hon Allwell Ihunda paid him a courtesy visit at his country home in Rumuepirikom.
Ex Governor Wike who credited a key component of his success in office to the support he got from the different Local Governments called on the Council Chairmen to do more for Governor Siminalayi Fubara by giving him their unlloyed loyalty and support.
He also called on the them to support the Tinibu led Federal Government as unlike the past Federal Government which was hostile to Rivers State, President Tinubu has always been friendly to Rivers State.
In his remark the leader of the delegation and Mayor of Port Harcourt, Hon Allwell Ihunda acknowledged Wike’s impact on the state and its people as he explained that the visit was at the instance of the Chairmen to apreciate Governor Wike for his outstanding success in office and to affirm their political loyalty and commitement to his direction.
