BREAKING: Labour Party members in Obingwa protests over hijack of appointments by “Stakeholders”

Members of the Labour Party in Obingwa Local Government Area are on their way to Umuahia the Abia State Capital to protest against the activities of a group called “Stakeholders Forum” in Obingwa who they accused of hijacking all appointment coming to the Local Government Area.

The members of the party are accusing the group led by Mr Eric Egwuibe, Maxwell Nwadike, Peter Azubuike, George Chidoze, Victoria Onwubuike of writing list of who will be TC Chairman, Deputy TC Chairman, Councilors without the input of the Party in the Local Government Area.

“These group have been parading themselves as leaders of the party in the State whereas there is existing party leadership”

“They want to hijack everything without the input of the party. The party is protesting that today… All the party executives including Ward chairmen, women leaders and youth leaders of the party are all present” one of the protesters told PUO reports on Wednesday morning.

They are on their way to protest against their activities and calling on the Governor Dr Alex Otti to intervene before the situation gets out of hand.
