Emerging report from the Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Enugu indicates that Peter Mbah refused to honour court summon to appear before the Tribunal to give information as ordered by the tribunal.

In another development, the same Peter Mbah who refused to honour court summon has approached Federal High Court sitting in Abuja under compromised Justice Ekwo seeking for an order of committal against DG NYSC for alleged contempt of court.

It could be recalled that Mbah in his desperation to evade sack by the Tribunal for presenting forged NYSC certificate to INEC has approached Justice Ekwo for midnight Exparte Injunction restraining NYSC from issuing further disclaimers to his forged NYSC certificate.

The NYSC has filed counter affidavits in opposition, urging the court to set aside the order and also dismiss Mbah’s case as incompetent and frivolous. The scheme provided substantial proof that Mbah did not serve.

Unfortunately, for more than one month after the granting of interim injunction, Justice Ekwo has abandoned his duty at the federal High Court in a seeming compromised circumstance.

It is becoming more worrisome that if this trend is allowed to continue, we may get to the level where people will forge supreme court judgement to evade justice.
