On Friday the decision of the Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, to sack the Abuja Urban Mass Transport Company Managing Director, Najeed Abdulsalam, is currently causing protests in Abuja.

Staff of the company are currently protesting the sack of the agency’s MD.

Recall that on Wednesday the FCT Minister, Wike, had ordered the removal of heads of FCT agencies and parastatals.

Wike on Wednesday approved the immediate termination of the appointments of 21 heads of parastatals, agencies, and government companies of the FCT Administration (FCTA).

This was disclosed in a statement by his Director of Press, Office of the Minister, Anthony Ogunleye.

Wike also ordered the affected appointees to hand over the affairs of their offices to the most senior officers in rank.

The staff members of AUMTCO were in tears, as they protested Abdulsalam’s removal.
