The Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has claimed he could “retire” if they win the treble this season.

Since Guardiola arrived at the Etihad in 2016 has overseen an unprecedented period at the Premier League club.

The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss has won five Premier League titles.

Last season, City won three major trophies – Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup.

Guardiola has now claimed he could end his managerial career should City repeat the feat.

Speaking to Amazon Prime Video Sport, he said: “If we win the treble this season, I’ll retire.

“That’s for sure. I know it is extremely difficult, how many incredible teams have been in England and just one with Sir Alex Ferguson has done it and ourselves last season.”
