In the Africa Cup of Nations semi-final on Wednesday, Nigeria would be favored over South Africa, according to Chippa United chairman Siviwe Mpengesi.
When the national team plays the Supe Eagles, the entire country of South Africa will support them.
It would be Bafana Bafana’s first time participating in an AFCON final since 1996.
However, Mpengesi has made the decision to back Stanley Nwabali, the team’s goalie, as well as the entire Super Eagles team.
“With Stanley’s rising profile and the international attention it brings Chippa United FC, the benefits have been nothing but positive.
“Therefore, I and Chippa United FC stand behind our player Stanley Nwabali and the Nigerian Super Eagles (on Wednesday) against South Africa’s Bafana Bafana. We wish the Super Eagles all the best,” Mpengesi said in a statement.
