Former Kaduna Central Senator Shehu Sani claimed on Monday that President Bola Tinubu would only have been spared by God if he had gone to the final Africa Cup of Nations, or AFCON, in Cote d’Ivoire.

Sani claimed that if Tinubu had gone to the championship game, Nigerians would have trampled him.

Posting on X, Sani wrote: “If the President has attended that Match,na only God go save am from una koboko.”

On Sunday, the Super Eagles of Nigeria suffered a 2-1 defeat against the Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire.

Sebastian Haller scored the game-winning goal for Ivory Coast after Franck Kessie had cancelled out William Troost-Ekong’s header in the first half as they overcame Nigeria 2-1.

On the other hand, other Nigerians blamed Tinubu for the Eagles’ loss on their X handles.

@joseph_ebuka3: “So Na tinubu make us lose that match.”

@kobokolaugh: “Tinubu we’re not happy for Nigeria ooo, Na Super Eagles we Dey happy for ooo”

@This_isBravado: “Na Tinubu cause this defeat. Ghanaians please take Tinubu give us Shata bandle.”
