The current economic difficulty in Nigeria, according to Benjamin Kalu, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, is not solely the result of political interference; technocrats and government workers also play a significant role in the country’s issues.
At the National Assembly in Abuja on Thursday, during a courtesy call by participants in the Platform Public Service Boot camp, Kalu made this declaration.
He brought up the necessity of digitizing the public sector, where an auditing software may promote productivity and accountability.
The legislator, who saw youth as a country’s greatest asset, noted that many young people were ignorant of the idea of public service, which has long been mistakenly seen as a menial means of support.
The Deputy Speaker continued, stating that public service is more than just a profession but also a noble vocation, a dedication to improving society, and most importantly, a duty that must be carried out in order to safeguard the country.
It was stated that the boot camp is a life-changing experience that attempts to rewire Nigerian youngsters’ perspectives in order to address their inclusion and growth in all spheres of life.
