Despite heavy interest from Paris Saint-Germain, renowned football transfer guru Gianluca Di Marzio has predicted that Victor Osimhen of Napoli is set to move to Premier League clubs Arsenal or Chelsea during the forthcoming summer transfer window.
The Nigerian striker’s deal with Napoli was recently extended until 2026, with a release clause worth an estimated 130 million euros.
Osimhen is being considered by PSG as a possible replacement for Kylian Mbappé, who is expected to leave the team soon.
Osimhen made 27 appearances and scored 13 goals in the 2019–2020 season at Lille, giving him Ligue 1 experience.
Di Marzio, though, asserts that Osimhen would rather play for Chelsea or Arsenal than go back to Ligue 1.
Osimhen’s attention is still on a possible transfer to the Premier League, where he hopes to demonstrate his talent on a bigger platform, with PSG leading the race because of their good relationship with Napoli.
“I’m not so convinced that Osimhen goes to PSG, he has already played in France with Lille, logical, PSG is something else and would allow you to face matches like the Champions League semi-final, but his preference was and remains England,” Di Marzio said in quotes relayed by Spazio Napoli.
“Chelsea and Arsenal are two clubs that could grab Osimhen.”
