Senator Shehu Sani, a former lawmaker, implied on Wednesday that northern leaders weren’t sincere about resolving the region’s security issues.

Following rumors that bandits had slain 50 farmers in Plateau State and 30 farmers in Zamfara, Sani made the allegation.

The former congressman noted in a post on his X handle that 12 governors were missing from the most recent Northern Governors Forum conference, which was held in April, suggesting a lack of commitment.

He said: “Last week Bandits killed 30 farmers in Zamfara and this week terrorists slaughtered 50 farmers in Plateau State. In the last Northern Governors meeting held in April,12 Governors were absent. The leaders in the region are not serious about addressing the security concerns of the region.”
