Nigerian laborers have cut off the Senate and House of Representatives’ two buildings’ water and electricity supplies.

According to newsmen, the issue also affects other buildings inside the National Assembly complex.

The event transpired subsequent to the National Assembly being closed by members of the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN), a branch of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), in observance of the labor unions’ unilateral strike declaration.

Two PASAN buses have also blocked the assembly complex’s entrance and exit gates.

According to reports, organized labor demanded to go on an extended strike since the federal government would not raise the minimum salary above N60,000.

But Labour is asking the government to provide a minimum salary of N494,000.
