Due to noise pollution, the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has closed a number of businesses, including restaurants, hotels, and The Lord’s Chosen Church.
In a statement released on Monday, LASEPA’s general manager acknowledged this, saying the agency’s decision was a part of a stepped-up effort to stop environmental violations that endanger the state’s public health and safety.
According to Ajayi, the crackdown was intended to alleviate the detrimental effects of ongoing noise pollution in specific regions of the state.
Shomolu, Jakande-Lekki, Oniru Victoria Island, Badore Ajah, Sangotedo, Lekki-Epe Expressway, Lekki II, Ogombo, and Lekki Phase 1 were among the impacted regions, the statement said.
Mountain of Fire and Miracles Church, West Syde Exclusive Hotel & Suites, Pixel Park Studio, Sneakers Suites & Bar, Wimpy Hotel, Handsworth Hotel, SBL Hotels, Celestial Church, Zodiac Lounge, The Lord’s Chosen Church, and Kobis Restaurant are among the affected establishments.
“Noise pollution and other environmental violations disrupt the peace and health of our communities.
“Today’s action demonstrates our zero-tolerance policy towards defaulters and our resolve to enforce environmental laws strictly,” the statement added.
