The Woman Leader has the People’s Democratic Party(PDP) in Bende Local Government Area Mrs Ozochi Lynda (Janny Ujunwa Lily)has countered the Publicity Secretary of the party in the State Mr Eric Ikwuagwu over his claim that Chief Emeka Kalu is not a member of the People’s Democratic Party.
In a Statement titled“In Defense of Chief Emeka Kalu”, the Woman Leader of the PDP said Chief Kalu is a dedicated member of the party in Bende Ward, Bende Local Government Area of Abia State.
She advised the PDP Spokesman to focus on providing constructive criticism than resorting to personal attacks on its financial up to date members.
“Chief Eric Dwyse Ikwuagwu, the state Publicity Secretary of PDP, recently made a public statement disclaiming Chief Emeka Kalu’s claims of being a chieftain of the party, However, I strongly disagree with this assertion, as Chief Emeka Kalu is indeed a dedicated and registered member of the PDP in Bende ward”
“I can personally attest to his commitment to the party because we are from the same ward, having witnessed his numerous contributions, including financial support, to our ward’s activities”
Speaking Further, she said the Party’s Stakeholder has been very supportive to the Ward in Bende by generously providing funds for holding of Ward meetings.
“For instance, he generously provided funds for our ward meetings on multiple occasions last year and even hosted the stakeholders of Bende ward including Amb. Loving Okoro an aspirant in the just concluded state congress of PDP on 2nd Jan 2025”
“Moreover, during the Christmas celebration for PDP ward women leaders on December 23, 2024, Chief Emeka Kalu was the highest donor, which shows his dedication to the party’s causes, It’s puzzling that anybody would make such a false claim, especially given Chief Emeka Kalu’s visible involvement in party activities”
“This raises questions about their motivations and the accuracy of their statements, I’m just concerned about Eric’s tendency to throw tantrums unnecessarily, as evident in his statement.
“As the state Publicity secretary of PDP, he should maintain a professional tone and focus on addressing substantive issues rather than making personal attacks on dedicated members like Chief Emeka Charles Kalu “
“The party should try to correct this mistake, acknowledge Chief Emeka Kalu’s contributions to the PDP, and refrain from making unsubstantiated claims in the future” She concluded.
