Abia-born businessman and philanthropist, Dr. Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso, has highlighted the transformative impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on education and called for thoughtful reflection on how to harness its potential for peaceful coexistence.

In a statement titled “The Best Education Our World Needs,” released to mark the seventh anniversary of the International Day of Education, Anyaso emphasized the significance of the 2025 theme, “AI and Education: Preserving Human Agency in a World of Automation.”

“Artificial Intelligence (AI) is revolutionizing every aspect of life, including education, and we must reflect on how to harness its potential while safeguarding the irreplaceable role of human educators,” he stated.

Anyaso acknowledged the power of AI to enhance learning experiences, improve accessibility, and transform educational systems. However, he stressed the importance of preserving the critical contributions of teachers.

“AI has the power to enhance learning experiences, improve accessibility, and transform educational systems. Yet, we must never lose sight of the invaluable contributions of teachers—mentors who inspire creativity, foster critical thinking, and nurture the problem-solving skills essential for personal and societal growth. Education, at its core, is about more than information delivery; it is about shaping character, building relationships, and empowering the next generation to lead with empathy and purpose,” he said.

As the world celebrates International Day of Education, Dr. Anyaso urged a collective commitment to building a future where technology and human agency coexist harmoniously.

“As we celebrate this day, let us reaffirm our commitment to creating a future where technology and human agency coexist harmoniously—a future where every child, regardless of circumstance, has access to quality education that unlocks their full potential and prepares them to thrive in a dynamic world,” he added.

“Let us continue to inspire, teach, and empower. Together, we can ensure that education remains the greatest tool for building a better tomorrow,” Anyaso concluded.
