Gospel singer Judith Kanayo Opara, popularly known by her stage name Judikay, has announced her decision to step away from the ongoing drama and failed attempts to tarnish the image of her former boss, Mr. Ezekiel ThankGod.
In a statement released on Saturday, the singer expressed her desire to prioritize unity and the greater good as a member of the body of Christ.
“This statement seeks to clarify the facts while reaffirming my unwavering commitment to my ministry and career, which I have dedicated to glorifying God through music”
“My contract with EeZee Conceptz began in February 2019. However, from 2019 to 2023, I was never granted access to my backend nor allowed to receive payments directly from their source. All receipts sent to me were created by the label, and I accepted them in good faith, trusting my former boss without question”
“In early 2024, after exhausting all peaceful avenues, I sought the intervention of a government agency. However, upon the counsel of Apostle Anselm Madubuko, a respected father in the faith, I suspended the case. Apostle Madubuko assured us that justice would prevail for all parties. Though I could not attend the meeting personally, I was duly represented. During this conciliatory meeting, Mr. ThankGod Ezekiel agreed to cooperate with an independent audit”
“After careful consideration, I have decided to step away from this entire noise surrounding the case. While my pursuit of justice is important, it pales in comparison to my role as a member of the body of Christ and my commitment to protecting the sanctity of His name”
“My focus remains unwavering, and my commitment to glorifying Jesus through the ministry the Lord has graciously entrusted into my hands remains steadfast.” She said
