Senator Bala Mohammed, the governor of Bauchi State, has reaffirmed his dedication to promoting unity and thwarting division in Nigeria. He said this after welcoming Mr. Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State and the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, and his entourage to Bauchi on Tuesday.
Governor Mohammed thanked Obi for his visit and praised his commitment to national development in a post on his X handle.
“I reiterated my unwavering commitment to fostering unity and combating division, emphasizing that patriotism remains the foundation of a brighter future for our nation,” he stated.
The governor claims that Obi’s participation in national conversation and interactions with important stakeholders demonstrate his dedication to inclusive leadership.
“I appreciate Mr. Obi’s visit and recognize his commitment to inclusive leadership and nation-building,” he continued.
During the visit, Peter Obi clarified that his main goals were to express sympathy for recent losses and have conversations about important national concerns.
“This visit is to express my condolences, engage in meaningful discussions on national issues, and deepen consultations with relevant stakeholders,” Obi said.
Obi was accompanied on the visit by Mrs. Nenadi Usman, the former Finance Minister, and other dignitaries.
The group visited the palace of His Royal Highness, Alhaji (Dr.) Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu, the Emir of Bauchi, as part of their engagements. According to Governor Mohammed, the visit underlined their mutual dedication to the advancement and unification of Nigeria.
