Our attention has been drawn to a publication circulating in the media, allegedly authored by one Barr. Chinedu Adikwu, titled “Nsulu Airport Land Owners Allege RIP-OFF by Estate Valuers, Accuse Chukwumerije, Ministry of Land Staff”, wherein several respected professionals and certified Estate Surveying and Valuation firms—namely Nnanji O.A & Co, Osama Owague & Co, Welly and Associates, Rawlings Ehumadu & Co, Ken Ahuruonye & Co, Onuoha Ogechi Amanze & Co. etc —were falsely and maliciously accused of fraud, coercion, and collusion in the disbursement of compensation for the Nsulu Airport land acquisition project.

We, the undersigned professionals and corporate entities, categorically reject and condemn these baseless accusations, which are not only false and defamatory but also designed to malign our professional reputation, erode public trust, and incite discord within the Nsulu community and the general public at large.

For the record:

We were duly engaged as registered and certified Estate Surveyors and Valuers, professional members of The Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers, recognized by law and guided by professional ethics, to carry out Valuation and Attorney services amongst others in line with best professional and industry standards and in full compliance with the guidelines set forth by the Abia State Government and relevant federal agencies.

At no point did any of us coerce, manipulate, or impose powers of attorney on ourselves. Such documents are standard legal instruments donated voluntarily by landowners who wished to be represented.

The repeated suggestion that we are “strange fellows” or “non-indigenes” with “unverified offices in Abuja” is not only patently false but also xenophobic, tribal and unprofessional attack unbecoming of a supposed legal practitioner.

These malicious claims have caused reputational damage to our firms, individuals and profession resulting in loss of goodwill, distress among clients and stakeholders, and exposure to unwarranted public scrutiny.

DEMAND FOR RETRACTION AND APOLOGY

In view of the foregoing, we hereby demand that Barr. Chinedu Adikwu:

Retract the defamatory publication in its entirety within 48 hours of this notice,
Issue a public apology to all the named individuals, firms and professional body, to be published in one national daily newspaper and two local Abia-based news outlets, and Cease and desist from making further libelous statements against our persons and professional entities.

FAILURE TO COMPLY with these demands within the stipulated period will leave us with no option but to institute legal action for defamation, libel, and reputational damage without further notice. We shall pursue all legal remedies available under the law and seek appropriate damages and injunctions in a court of competent jurisdiction.

We also wish to reassure the public, the Abia State Government, and the Nsulu community that we remain committed to transparency, ethical conduct, and best professional practices in all our engagements.
