Christians have been urged to emulate God’s love for humanity and remain committed to His divine purpose. This charge was delivered by Pastor Maduka Nwankwo of Blessed Chapel International, Umuahia, during a sermon themed “Love and Generosity” at the 50th birthday thanksgiving service of Honourable Chukwudi Apugo on Sunday, May 18, 2025.
In his message, Pastor Nwankwo emphasized the need for Christians to acknowledge God’s goodness and seek meaningful ways to reciprocate His love. He also encouraged the celebrant to reflect on how he could give back to God in gratitude for the many blessings he has received.
Delivering an address at the event, Mrs. Chinyere Diala, Principal of Danijoy International School, Umuahia, commended Honourable Apugo for his unwavering commitment to education and child development.
“Honourable Apugo has truly given us the best. His dedication should serve as a model for all. Our school, with two campuses, is well represented here today because we are not only celebrating the golden jubilee of its founder but also honoring a man whose passion for education has propelled the school to prominence,” she said.
Representing Governor Alex Otti, the Chief of Staff, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, praised Hon. Apugo’s life and contributions, describing him as a man on a divine mission.
“When God selects a person, He sets them apart, just like the transformation Abia has seen in the past two years under Governor Otti’s leadership,” Pastor Ajagba stated.
Also speaking, former Governor Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu applauded the celebrant’s achievements, especially the establishment of Danijoy International School.
“The next 50 years of your life will surpass all your previous accomplishments. Founding Danijoy is one of your most impactful contributions. You may not yet fully realize the difference you’ve made in the lives of these children, but you will see it in the future. I wish you many more fulfilling years,” he remarked.
A major highlight of the event was the cutting of the birthday cake by Hon. Apugo and his family. The celebration also featured performances of choreography and drama by students from Danijoy International School, both from the Umuahia and Uyo campuses.
