House of Reps. Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu Condoles with Don Lulu Over Mother’s Death

The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, has paid a condolence visit to the residence of Mayor Lucky Igbokwe (Don Lulu) in Umuawa Alaocha, Umuahia North Local Government Area of Abia State, to commiserate with him and members of the Igbokwe family over the death of their matriarch, Dame Peace Onyekwulechi Igbokwe.

The Deputy Speaker, who was accompanied by a delegation of notable political leaders, business personalities, and associates from Abia State, described the late Dame Peace Igbokwe as a virtuous woman who lived a life of impact, service, and compassion. He noted that her passing was a great loss not only to the Igbokwe family but also to the entire Abia community, given her contributions to humanity and the moral upbringing she instilled in her children.

Rt. Hon. Kalu encouraged Mayor Lucky Igbokwe and his siblings to be consoled by the fact that their mother lived a fulfilled life anchored on faith and love for God and mankind. He assured the family of his continuous prayers, friendship, and support during this period of mourning, emphasizing that moments like this call for unity and thanksgiving for a life well spent.

“Mama lived well, and her legacies will continue to speak for generations. The strength and character she imparted to her children are already evident in the lives they live today. We are here to remind you that you are not alone; we stand with you in this time of grief,” the Deputy Speaker said.

In his response, Mayor Lucky Igbokwe (Don Lulu) expressed profound appreciation to the Deputy Speaker and his entourage for taking time out of their busy schedules to visit and sympathize with his family. He described the gesture as a demonstration of genuine brotherhood and friendship, adding that such visits bring comfort and strength in moments of deep sorrow.

“On behalf of my family, I sincerely thank Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu for this visit. Your presence means a lot to us. It reminds us that true leadership is about empathy and humanity. We draw strength from the love and support shown to us by friends like you,” Don Lulu said.

The visit of the Deputy Speaker adds to the growing list of prominent personalities who have paid condolence visits to Mayor Igbokwe following the demise of his mother, further reflecting the deep respect and goodwill he commands across political, business, and social circles.
