A former governor of Anambra State, Chris Ngige, has been arrested in Abuja.
The immediate past Minister of Labour and Employment is currently in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
The development was confirmed in a statement released on Wednesday night by his former media aide, Fred Chukwulobe.
Chukwulobe dismissed online rumours suggesting Ngige had been kidnapped. He said, “Former Governor of Anambra State and immediate past minister of labour and employment, Dr. Chris Ngige, is with the EFCC. More details later.”
Ngige made headlines recently after his convoy was attacked by armed men in Anambra State. He was not in the vehicle during the incident.
