The results of Monday’s matches at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) have been confirmed, with hosts Morocco delivering an emphatic performance in Group A.
Morocco thrashed Zambia 3-0, courtesy of a brace from Ayoub El Kaabi and an additional goal from Brahim Diaz.
In the other Group A encounter, Comoros and Mali played out a goalless draw, with both sides failing to find the net after regulation time.
In Group B, Angola and Egypt also settled for a 0-0 draw, while South Africa edged Zimbabwe 3-2 in a closely contested fixture.
Meanwhile, attention shifts to Tuesday’s matches as more group-stage fixtures are scheduled across the tournament.
Nigeria will face Uganda in their final Group C match, while Tanzania will take on Tunisia in an evening encounter.
In Group D, Botswana are set to battle DR Congo on Tuesday night, while Senegal will clash with the Benin Republic later in the day at the Grand Stade de Tanger in Tangier.
