Former Super Eagles captain Sunday Oliseh has commended Ademola Lookman and Alex Iwobi for their outstanding performances in Nigeria’s emphatic 4 0 victory over Mozambique in the Africa Cup of Nations Round of 16 on Monday night.
The Super Eagles delivered a dominant display against the Mambas in Fes, Morocco, with Lookman and Iwobi playing key roles in the comprehensive win.
Lookman scored one goal and provided three assists, while Iwobi was instrumental in the buildup to Nigeria’s first two goals in the opening half.
Speaking during his commentary on CAF TV, Oliseh highlighted the importance of Iwobi’s contribution and Lookman’s clinical finishing.
“All these started from Iwobi, this is what we call the pre assist pass. That pass tore the defense apart,” Oliseh said.
“What a finish from Lookman. The goal is what we talk about, but it is the pass that comes before the assist.
“What a pass. We must give kudos to what Iwobi is doing.”
