The Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors has suspended its planned nationwide strike earlier scheduled to commence on January 12.
The decision was announced in a statement issued on Sunday by the association’s Secretary General, Shuaibu Ibrahim.
The association had previously declared its intention to embark on industrial action following an emergency National Executive Council meeting held on January 2.
According to the association, the proposed strike was intended to press home unresolved demands presented to the Federal Government.
The suspension of the strike suggests renewed engagement or reconsideration by the association as it continues discussions on issues affecting resident doctors nationwide, according to PUO Reports.
