Dr. Farah Dagogo, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has called on the party’s newly elected National Executive, led by David Mark, to rise to the responsibility of restoring public confidence in governance.

Mark, who secured 1,471 votes at the party’s national convention in Abuja, emerged as the substantive National Chairman of the ADC.

Speaking on the sidelines of the convention, Dagogo congratulated the new leadership but stressed that the moment requires more than celebration. He noted that Nigerians are placing high expectations on the party to provide credible opposition ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Dagogo described Mark as one of Nigeria’s most accomplished Senate Presidents, expressing confidence in his leadership capacity and integrity.

He urged the new executive to remain proactive and focused, emphasizing that they now carry the hopes of citizens facing economic hardship, insecurity, and governance challenges.

According to him, the ADC is increasingly seen as a viable alternative capable of delivering stability, security, and national development.

Dagogo also highlighted the weight of public trust placed on the party, stating that greater expectations come with the support and goodwill it currently enjoys.

The convention saw wide participation from party members and stakeholders, with delegates voting overwhelmingly to amend the party’s constitution.
