United States President Donald Trump has announced that Israel and Lebanon have agreed to a 10 day ceasefire.
Trump disclosed this in a post on his Truth Social account on Thursday.
He wrote, “These two Leaders have agreed that in order to achieve peace between their Countries, they will formally begin a 10 day ceasefire at 5 P.M. EST.”
The announcement follows a meeting between representatives of Israel and Lebanon in Washington DC earlier this week.
Both countries have been engaged in hostilities for more than two years prior to the agreement.
