A few days ago, many people watched an emotional video of Mrs. Nkechinyere Ndukwe crying and calling on the wife of the Abia State Governor, Mrs. Priscilla Chidinma Otti, to come to her rescue over claims that someone wanted to take over her late husband’s property located at No. 62 Mission Hill Umuahia, Abia State.
Naturally, emotions ran high. Many sympathized with her. But beyond the tears lies a truth that must not be ignored.
That property she is crying about today was not taken from her ;it was sold for ₦300 million.
When the weight of an ₦80 million loan from Keystone Bank Aba became unbearable and the bank moved to recover its money, it was not the public that came to their aid. It was a private individual, Mr. Chimezie Nwachukwu, who stepped in to help prevent the property from being sold off cheaply.
He was approached by the family . Discussions were held. Agreements were reached.
The family , including Mrs. Nkechinyere Ndukwe and her children , consented to the sale. Payments were made in installments until the full ₦300 million was paid.
This is not hearsay. This is not assumption.
There is a signed acknowledgment of payment issued by her son, Hon. Obinna Ndukwe(Elroi Gene Ration), confirming the receipt of the full ₦300 million for the property. The document clearly states that the money was received for the sale of Novotel Hotel.
So the question remains ; what has changed, How does a concluded, documented transaction suddenly become a case of “someone trying to take over our property”?
It is even more troubling that the same individuals who agreed to the sale are now allegedly removing doors and windows, while presenting themselves as victims to the public.
This goes beyond emotion. This is about truth, Yes, people deserve sympathy. But sympathy must never replace facts.
You cannot sell a property, collect full payment, issue a written acknowledgment, and later return to cry foul before the public.
At what point did accountability become optional, at what point did we begin to use tears to rewrite history?
The truth is simple: The property was sold. The money was paid. The agreement was documented, No amount of emotional appeal can erase that reality.
The wife of the Governor of Abia State Does not support dishonest people because it is clear that the old woman is being dishonest.
