Ibrahim Abdulkarim, a political associate of former Anambra State governor Peter Obi, has claimed that former Kano State governor Rabiu Kwankwaso has agreed to serve as Obi’s running mate in the 2027 presidential election.
Abdulkarim made the assertion during an interview on Trust TV, stating that supporters of both leaders are already aligning toward a joint ticket.
When asked whether Obi and Kwankwaso had reached an agreement, he responded, “yes, I can categorically tell you that they have agreed”.
“We all know that. Both the Obidients and the Kwankwassiyya Movements are aware of the agreement”.
Kwankwaso recently defected from the New Nigeria Peoples Party NNPP to the African Democratic Congress ADC, a move that has fueled speculation about a possible alliance between the two political figures ahead of the 2027 elections.
