Nollywood actor-turned-politician Yul Edochie has stirred controversy after criticising Igbos who condemn their kinsmen for supporting President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid.

In a post shared on X on Saturday, Edochie issued a strong rebuke against such critics.

“Any Igbo man that is dragging his fellow Igbo man for supporting President TINUBU, that person is a monkey and a coward.”

He argued that those criticising supporters of the president from the South-East often fail to hold people from other regions to the same standard.

“Show me a video of you dragging Yorubas who are supporting TINUBU. Show me a video of you dragging Northerners who are supporting Tinubu. Show me a video of you dragging all the past leaders who couldn’t fix Nigeria. Show me a video of you dragging Northern celebrities that support Tinubu. None,” Mr Edochie said.

Recall President Tinubu’s “City Boy” movement has already begun gaining traction nationwide, including in the South-East, where prominent figures like Obi Cubana are reportedly leading local efforts.
