Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has expressed concern over alleged election manipulation at collation centres, calling for urgent measures to safeguard the integrity of the electoral process.
Atiku made the remarks during a meeting with members of the Coalition for Democracy Movement, led by Dr Jibril Shehu Mustapha, where discussions focused on strengthening electoral transparency and political coordination across the country.
In a post shared on X, Atiku revealed that the group outlined its nationwide structure and reiterated its commitment to supporting efforts aimed at ensuring credible elections and protecting votes.
He commended the coalition for its consistency and expressed appreciation for its support, assuring members that their contributions would be acknowledged.
“I highlighted growing concerns about election manipulation, especially at collation centres, and stressed the need for effective countermeasures, while expressing gratitude for their support and commending their consistency.
“I assured them that their sacrifices will not be forgotten, and that history will remember their role in defending democracy,” he wrote.
