National Publicity Secretary of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Bolaji Abdullahi, has stated that the ADC remains the only political party in Nigeria not controlled by a single individual.
Abdullahi made the statement on Monday during an interview on Arise Television’s Prime Time programme while speaking on the party’s presidential primary election conducted across the country.
According to him, the ADC currently has three highly qualified presidential aspirants capable of providing stronger leadership than President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“The ADC is the only party today that is not controlled by an individual. We have three top class candidates who, in their own right, are eminently qualified and can do better than President Tinubu. Deciding who should withdraw for whom is a challenge,” he said.
Abdullahi also described the party’s ongoing primary election as one of the most competitive internal democratic exercises he had witnessed.
He noted that party members turned out in large numbers across thousands of wards nationwide to participate in the process.
“Thousands of wards across the country, our members have trooped down to vote in one of the most competitive internal elections that I have ever experienced in my life.
“Even as I speak to you, I cannot tell you who won in my home state, Kwara, and in many other states that I have been closely watching. It is that competitive,” Abdullahi added.
