Former Chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), Sam Amadi, has described Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate Peter Obi and his supporters as one of the most transformative forces in Nigerian politics in the last 25 years.

Amadi said Obi and the Obidient movement have introduced significant energy, ideas, and intensity into Nigeria’s political landscape.

In a post shared on X, he urged Obi and his supporters to remain resolute and intensify their political engagement ahead of the 2027 elections.

He wrote: “@PeterObi and his Obidients have been the most transformative force in Nigerian politics in the two and half decades.

“The energies, the disruption and the ideas and vehemence they brought to Nigerian politics have parallel only in the 1960s.

“It does not mean they are good or bad people. It means they have been immensely transformative. Any serious and fair-minded political scientist will admit this.

“They should be resolute and press harder in 2027.”

Amadi’s remarks add to ongoing political discourse on the evolving influence of emerging political movements and their role in shaping Nigeria’s electoral landscape ahead of the next general elections.
