Public affairs analyst Ladi Peter Thompson has alleged that the administration of President Bola Tinubu spent more than 150 million dollars in the United States to prevent possible intervention by United States President Donald Trump over killings in Nigeria.

Thompson made the allegation in a video that surfaced on X on Thursday.

He was speaking on the United States strikes carried out on Christmas Day in 2025, claiming that the Nigerian government deployed significant financial resources to counter narratives suggesting the existence of a Christian genocide in the country.

According to Thompson, despite challenges affecting citizens at home, the Nigerian government publicly released 10 million dollars to a lobbying firm in the United States.

He further alleged that funds spent in Washington to counter actions by Trump totaled nearly 150 million dollars.

“We all know that we have more than enough documentation, more than enough clout to show that there really was a Christian genocide going on, and then later on.

“President Bola Tinubu pumped over $150 million into Washington to stop US president Donald Trump’s intervention to Nigeria,” he said.
