With Tinubu, Wike FCT now operates like full state – Akpabio

Senate President Godswill Akpabio has declared that the Federal Capital Territory now operates like a full state, attributing the transformation to President Bola Tinubu and the Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike.

Akpabio made the statement on Tuesday during the commissioning of the newly constructed Gomani, Dafa, and Yangoji roads in Kwali Area Council, an event held to mark Tinubu’s third anniversary in office.

Representing President Tinubu at the commissioning ceremony, Akpabio said the administrative structure of the FCT has significantly expanded under Wike’s leadership.

According to him, the territory now has an active Head of Service, several parastatals, Permanent Secretaries, Coordinators of Satellite Towns Development, and other key agencies.

Akpabio said:

“We have a lot of other distinguish personalities here but let me go straight to the host of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, Mr Project; I did not give you that name but Mr President gave you the name. My brother the Minister of the FCT, Wike and his children who are watching the miracle that their father is performing in the FCT.

“When you were introduced, you were called the once Chairman of Obiakpor but you were governor of Rivers State that I know but she forgot that you were once the minister of Education and this is your second coming as minister.

“You have served your country well, through you and Mr President, FCT now has a lot of parastatals and I have seen the Head of Service and Permanent Secretaries, I have seen Coordinators of Satellite towns development and all agencies in the FCT. In fact the FCT is now operating like a full state courtesy of Tinubu and the Minister of the FCT.”
