Former Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, and former Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi, are currently in a closed door meeting in Abuja.

The meeting between the two chieftains of the African Democratic Congress is taking place at Amaechi’s residence in Abuja on Friday.

The latest political engagement comes shortly after Amaechi’s visit to former Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, in Abuja on Thursday, fueling speculation over ongoing strategic consultations ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Recall that the African Democratic Congress recently unveiled Amaechi as the running mate to the party’s presidential candidate for the 2027 election, Atiku Abubakar.

The party has also uploaded the names of Atiku Abubakar and Rotimi Amaechi on the nomination portal of the Independent National Electoral Commission ahead of next year’s election.

As of the time of filing this report, details of the closed door meeting remain undisclosed.
