The Wife of the Governor of Abia State, Her Excellency Mrs. Priscilla Otti, has charged women to rise into positions of influence and authority, stressing that true leadership must be supported by character, courage, wisdom and responsibility.
Mrs. Otti gave the charge on Sunday while serving as Special Guest of Honour at the just concluded 2026 Exceptional Queens Convention of Power World Ministries International
The conference, which had the theme “Emergence of Queens: Stepping Into Influence and Authority,” brought together women from different walks of life for a celebration of purpose, leadership, faith and empowerment.
Congratulating the church on the successful hosting of the 2026 Exceptional Queens programme, Mrs. Otti who was represented at the occasion by Mrs Eucharia Nmeregini, wife of the Deputy Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly who came in company of Mrs Tochi Boniface, wife of the Lawmaker Representing Ikwuano State Constituency, described the theme as timely and profound, noting that a queen is not defined merely by a crown or position but by her character and ability to positively influence her environment.
She said:
“A queen is not merely defined by a crown. A queen is defined by character, courage, wisdom, responsibility and the capacity to influence her world for good.”
The Abia First Lady noted that there is a difference between being given a position and becoming a woman of influence, stressing that while authority may open a door, character determines what happens after the door is opened.
Drawing inspiration from biblical figures such as Esther and Deborah, she urged women not merely to occupy spaces but to transform them and use their voices with wisdom, conviction and purpose.
“Queens emerge when women recognise that influence is a responsibility, not a privilege,” she said.
Mrs. Otti further encouraged the women not to wait for permission to become who God has called them to be, urging them to lead with wisdom, serve with excellence and speak with courage.
She challenged the women to measure their emergence not only by how high they rise but also by the number of lives that become better because of their influence.
“Our emergence must not be measured only by how high we rise, but by how many lives become better because we rose,” she stated.
She prayed that the conference would awaken dormant gifts, strengthen courageous hearts, deepen the faith of participants and inspire women to take their rightful place in society.
Earlier, the Co-Senior Pastor of Power World Ministries International and Supervisor of the Exceptional Queens, Dr. Mrs. Chioma Uwandu Ume, declared that the time had come for women to emerge and take their rightful place as ‘queens’.
Dr. Uche Ume emphasized the importance of preparation, noting that women must prepare themselves for the challenges that accompany their destinies.
“You can’t emerge without being prepared. God didn’t promise us a trouble-free life, but when the storm comes, you prepare for it,” she said.
She further noted that while God may reveal a person’s beautiful destiny, He may not necessarily reveal the process required to arrive there.
“God will tell you the beautiful destiny, but He may not tell you the process,” she added.
In her welcome address, , the Head of Department of the Exceptional Queens, Mrs. Ifeyinwa Nzewi Onyeulo, welcomed the women and distinguished guests to the conference and expressed appreciation to everyone who participated in this year’s programme.
